ANN ARBOR — ProQuest, the Ann Arbor-based database and information provider, has launched a program to provide no-cost access to its databases for students and researchers who have been separated from their universities and libraries because of travel bans or other immigration changes.
The company has established an email hotline, ContinueMyResearch@proquest.com, where these displaced researchers can arrange for access to the materials they need to continue their work.

ANN ARBOR — The Ann Arbor information services provider ProQuest has announced a new application programming interface that enables content from its ProQuest Dialog information service to be integrated into organizational workflow tools such as intranets, analysis and visualization programs, and SharePoint sites.
ProQuest said the API gives researchers the ability to retrieve and manipulate select content from leading biomedical, engineering, news and trade, and patents databases in a format that works best for them.

ANN ARBOR — The Ann Arbor information and research firm ProQuest Monday rolled out a new platform interface that the company says makes it easier for users to complete their research tasks.
ProQuest said the new interface was developed through analysis of researcher behaviors on the ProQuest platform, testing with users and librarians, beta testing with a variety of customer development partners, and large scale A-B testing.

ANN ARBOR — The Ann Arbor information services provider ProQuest said it had signed an agreement to acquire Coutts Information Services Ltd. from La Vergne, Tenn.-based Ingram Content Group Inc.
Terms were not disclosed.
Coutts provides print and electronic content and other programs and services to more than 5,000 academic and professional libraries in more than 150 nations around the world. Its products include the MyiLibrary and Oasis platforms. Coutts has 170 employees.
The acquisition will give ProQuest the ability to supply not only ebooks but paper books to libraries. ProQuest officials said that means libraries will be able to buy both ebooks and print through a single workflow, saving time and effort.
Ingram will continue to provide print fulfillment to Coutts under ProQuest ownership, preserving fast delivery through Ingram’s print-on-demand service.

ANN ARBOR — ProQuest is now accepting applications for its 2015 Roger K. Summit Scholarship, which will award $5,000 to a promising graduate student in library and information sciences.
Global in scope, the popular scholarship has been awarded annually for more than 20 years to students who envision new, meaningful expansions of and uses for digital information services. The deadline to apply is March 30.
