3-D Printing: Additive Works Joins the Altair Partner Alliance

TROY — The engineering technology developer Altair Inc. anounced that Amphyon, 3D printing software from the Bremen, Germany-based Additive Works GmbH, has been added to the Altair Partner Alliance.

Amphyon is a simulation-driven, process software for powder bed-based, laser beam melting additive manufacturing processes. It allows for automatic optimization of part orientation as well as a build-up process simulation and the adaption of process parameters in order to achieve a higher part quality and more process stability.

Systems Modeling, Verification Software Added to Altair Partner Alliance

TROY — The Altair Partner Alliance has added the systems engineering software from Brighton-based XLDyn LLC to its lineup of software partnerships. The software is made up of two modules, XLSE and XL1D, which work together to automate the creation of system models and perform one dimensional multi-physics simulations.

Cost Estimation Software Added to Altair Software Library

TROY — The Altair Partner Alliance has added cost estimation software called LeanCost from the Italian software and lean technology developer Hyperlean s.r.l., the Troy-based engineering technology company announced today.

The company said LeanCost can be used for quick and easy cost estimation of products, processes, single components and assemblies based on automatic feature recognition from 3D models.

Altair Partner Alliance Gets NVH Partner

TROY — Altair, the Troy-based engineering technology developer, announced that Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration Measurement A/S has joined the Altair Partner Alliance.

The move brings the Danish company’s noise, vibration and harshness analysis software, Insight+, to customers of Altair’s HyperWorks engineering software suite. Insight+ creates the ability to efficiently consider test and computer-aided engineering data together to assist engineers in better understanding NVH contributions early in the design process.
